Bunyip North Energy Storage Project

A new energy storage project in Australia

Acknowledgement of Country

In planning for Australia's clean energy future, RES acknowledges its rich history. We pay our respects to the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the Country on which the Bunyip North Energy Storage Project is proposed. We recognise their ongoing connection to land and waterways and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

The Project

RES is proposing to develop a battery energy storage system (BESS) facility near Bunyip, north of the Princes Highway, approximately 3km from Bunyip, in the Cardinia Shire.

The Project is designed to support the sustainable transition of Victoria's energy network, enabling greater integration of renewable energy and reducing reliance on fossil fuels to maintain grid reliability.

If developed, the Bunyip North Energy Storage Project will also deliver significant local benefits such as:

  • Sponsorship and Community Investment: Funding to support local initiatives, facilities and community programs through tailored community benefit sharing.
  • Jobs & Economic Activity: Opportunities for local suppliers, tradespeople and contractors to participate from construction through to ongoing maintenance.
